Protest demanding equal taxation

Although Walmart made $524 billion in revenue (2019), Walmart’s full-time associates are making about $19k a year. This is below the federal poverty line for a family of three. And there are hundreds of thousands of working people who are stuck in part-time jobs without access to more hours. On February 2020, workers strike outside Alice Walton’s (Walmart CEO) apartment in New York City to demand full-time jobs with stable, predictable work hours. Part-time workers also demand equitable pay and the opportunity to work full-time.”

Photoessay commissioned by United For Respect. New York City, Feb. 2020.
